Guilty across the board.
Following a week-long trial last week, a Lyon County jury has convicted Russell Paul Patterson on single counts of rape, commercial sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated human trafficking dating back to illegal sexual activity with a then-17-year-old this past July.
Several years ago, Patterson was an Emporia Police officer, but the department released him in 2017 before he could complete training.
Sentencing is June 23.
