Emporia city commissioners have a variety of matters to address with their meetings Wednesday.
During the action meeting, commissioners could award the 2025 concrete street repair project to Quality Built Construction at a total cost approaching $320,000. They could also grant a 10-year franchise to IdeaTek Telecom.
Study meeting matters include a discussion of potential restructuring for the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas’ Board of Directors, as well as changes to open meeting laws, allocation of transient guest tax revenue and potential solutions for sanitary sewer overflows.
A special “public notice” gathering is also on the agenda as city commissioners meet at noon at Emporia State University to tour and discuss campus facilities.
The meeting slate has a different schedule than normal because of the ESU tour. The action session will still be at the Municipal Court Room, but it will start at 10 am instead of the usual 11 am. The study session follows at White Auditorium City Conference Room 1AB.
