A grant opportunity to further the mission of Southwick House will come before Lyon County Commissioners when they convene for their regular action meeting Thursday morning.
Towards the end of their meeting, commissioners will discuss an emergency solutions grant from the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation on behalf of Southwick House. The conversation comes as Southwick continues its $3.6 million capital campaign to construct a new transitional housing facility in Emporia.
Other business for commissioners will include the annual Emporia Main Street report from Director Casey Woods and consideration of a $40,000 services agreement with Brown & Brown Broker. The cost will be paid in quarterly increments from County General Contractual Services.
One non-elected personnel executive session for employee evaluation is also scheduled. The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
