The Emporia High girls swim and dive team finished third at the Centennial League Championships on Thursday. Emporia High had 289 points as a team, finishing behind Manhattan and Washburn Rural. Allie Weiss won her third consecutive league championship with a score of 500.75. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Camryn Spafford, Ava Podrebarac, Taryn Woydziak and Brooke Monroe finished third, earning a state consideration of 1:57.44. Podrebarac finished fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (3:05.29). Woydziak finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:05.89). Weiss will begin diving in the prelims and semifinals next Thursday in Topeka. The 200-yard freestyle relay team will have to wait to see if their time qualifies them for prelims at state next Friday afternoon.
