Over $50,000 in grant money is coming to SOS after a recent announcement by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.
The governor says SOS is earmarked for almost $24,000 through the federal Services, Training, Officers and Prosecutors Violence Against Women Act Formula Grant program. This provides money for programs offering development and training for law enforcement, attorneys, judges and court staff while also bolstering victim services and legal assistance programs.
SOS will also get over $26,000 through the federal Sexual Assault Services Program. This funding offers money for crisis intervention, medical and criminal justice “accompaniment,” educational information and advocacy.
Over $2.3 million in total grant funding is part of this announcement.
