Court proceedings in a Lyon County rape case are taking the next step forward after a hearing Wednesday.
Luis Jalpa-Sena will return to Lyon County District Court on June 20 for a pretrial conference.
As part of a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Judge Doug Jones found probable cause to bind Jalpa-Sena over for potential trial on one count each of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated sexual battery and furnishing alcohol to a minor. The rape, sodomy and sexual battery charges all have alternates with the same charges listed.
Jalpa-Sena is accused of raping a 16-year-old who was unable to give consent due to the effects of alcohol he allegedly provided to the teenager.
