The Flint Hills Rodeo celebrated its 87th year of entertainment with a banner weekend.
The event has brought together up-and-coming rodeo participants from the area together with seasoned pros. It has also been a point of pride for many in Chase County, including Rodeo Board President Buck Bailey.
Bailey also thanked volunteers and sponsors for their help in making the rodeo successful. The three-day event brought strong to near-capacity crowds to Strong City each night.
This was the first year for ranch bronc to be a competition category after women’s breakaway roping was added last year. Conversations are already underway about the 2026 event.
