It took a foot or more of rainfall over nearly three weeks, but drought has ended across the entire KVOE listening area.
The US Drought Monitor shows no drought of any level for Lyon and surrounding counties, following anywhere from 12-19 inches of rain since May 19.
Last week, the KVOE listening area had clear to abnormally dry conditions areawide. Two weeks ago, much of the area was in moderate drought. Three weeks ago, the Drought Monitor map had severe drought from far west Lyon County west across most of Chase and Marion counties.
