Unspecified federal funding cuts are leading to adjusted hours at CareArc’s Women, infants and Children program.
WIC Director Diana Moore says there will be no services available on Fridays until further notice. Moore stresses the program is committed to meeting community needs, but she also advises residents there may be longer response times and limited availability for appointments as a result of this change. WIC can serve residents from 8 am to 6 pm Mondays through Thursdays going forward.
WIC offers nutrition help for women, infants and children under age 5 that qualify under certain federal guidelines, with services including personalized information, referrals for family services, discounts on certain food items, immunization screenings, breastfeeding support and nutrition and/or health classes.
