New Emporia State women’s basketball coach MJ Baker has made her first hire onto her Emporia State staff. Taylor Jones will join the Lady Hornet program after serving under Baker the previous two years at Eastern Florida State College. Jones had formerly played for Baker as a Titan from 2017-19 and appeared in 28 games as a sophomore averaging just over 6 ppg and just under 5 rpg. She finished her career in NCAA Division II at Lynn University in the Sunshine State Conference scoring just over 10 ppg in her final collegiate season. Under Jones assistance, the Titans went 49-14 with her on the bench and 34-5 in conference play including an undefeated 21-0 conference record in 2023-24 on the way to a third-straight conference title.
