Women are encouraged to register for an important information seminar taking place in Emporia this week.
“Let’s Talk Hormones — A Women’s Health Event” is taking place from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Emporia Arts Center. Menopause is the main focus, and High Plains Wellness Dr Charisse Symmonds says she has fielded an increasing number of questions about “the change” over the years.
Newman Community Rx Pharmacist Amber Haag is the guest speaker, with additional insights from Dr Susan Brian. Haag says this is an event for women of all ages, even though women typically don’t seek information about menopause, pre-menopause or perimenopause until physical changes begin.
Residents attending will watch an informational video, with a question-and-answer session to follow.
Admission for health care professionals is $15 and $25 for the general public through the close of business Monday. Admission costs go up Tuesday. Residents can go online to highplainswellness.com/tickets to register.
