The 8th annual Lyon County Front Porch Jam series is kicking off this weekend.
The first concert in the 2025 series will be taking place at 2910 Crestview Drive Friday evening, hosted by Don Wamser, Craig and Joni Black and Bary and Nina Williams. Oraginzer Jeanna Scheve says they are very excited to get the season rolling after a very successful 2024.
The jam series has quickly become a summertime tradition in the local community, something lead organizer Jeanna Scheve attributes to community support and the generosity of their various hosts.
As always, access to the concert will come through a suggested donation, which will go to support the Emporia Senior Center and an ongoing project.
Senior Center Director Carla Fessler, a guest of KVOE’s Morning Show Tuesday, stated the project in question is the renovation of the center’s former gift shop space into a new space known as “The Nook.”
The concert will run from 7 pm to 9 pm with the featured performers including The Time Travelers, Jake Miller and Tim Shafer and the Scheve Gals. Friday will be the first of four shows between now and September.
