After verbally issuing a local disaster declaration for significant flooding last week, Lyon County commissioners could officially sign the document as part of their action meeting Friday.
The verbal declaration involved flooding from June 3-7 after anywhere from 3-6 inches of rainfall across Lyon County on June 3.
In other business, the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging will present its 2026 budget request. Commissioners will also discuss the results of their fence view on Road 220 near M after Wednesday’s onsite study meeting. Public Relations Director Vici Smith will also discuss agenda and minutes management software for county meetings.
The meeting starts at 9 am at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers. The meeting has been shifted to Friday because county offices are closed Thursday for Juneteenth.
