The town of Reading is just about ready for the annual Tornado Trot and Trail.
The event is Saturday. Once again, activities will begin at Reading City Park with registration at 6:30 am and a 5K run/walk or bike rides of varying lengths beginning at 7:30 am. New this year is an option to run the 5K before riding 13 miles.
Over 80 people have already registered and people can register onsite Saturday morning.
Also, the Reading Volunteer Benefit Fire Department will serve biscuits and gravy as a free will fundraiser starting at 7 am.
All proceeds benefit Handlebars of Hope, which provides free bikes to residents in Emporia and in Mexico.
