Track repairs and maintenance work is underway now in and around Neosho Rapids.
Lyon County Emergency Communications says Burlington Northern Santa Fe is working on the tracks by the town and the Main Street crossing in the city limits will be closed in both directions until at least Monday.
Emergency Communications also says other nearby crossings may be closed later, but BNSF has not advised when or where that work could take place.
Meanwhile, the railroad has announced track work at several Emporia crossings beginning next week.
Between July 9-13, work will take place at the Weaver Street crossing. Between July 14-17, work is taking place elsewhere across town, including crossings at:

• Peyton Avenue
• East Street
• Sylvan Street
• Cottonwood Street
• Exchange Street
• Union Street
• Market Street
• Mechanic Street
• Commercial Street
• Congress Street
