One sizeable purchase and an entrance application received Lyon County Commission approval Thursday.
During their regular action meeting, commissioners approved a request from Lyon County Emergency Manager Jarrod Fell for the purchase of 400 weather radios. The cost of the purchase comes to just over $10,400, with $7,845 of that cost being covered by federal funds and the remaining $2,615 being covered by local dollars.
The weather radios, purchased through Midland Radio Coroporation, will be distributed to Lyon County residents free of charge during the Lyon County Fair.
Separately, commissioners considered and approved an entrance application for Trey Sommers in the 1900 block of Road U presented by Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield.
Commissioners will next convene for a study meeting Tuesday at 8 am to discuss the 2026 budget.
