A Hamilton man was among four vehicle drivers hurt in a chain-reaction crash in Woodson County on Thursday.
Troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol say the wreck happened just before 11:30 am at the junction of US Highway 75 and 60th Road, about five miles south of Yates Center. Troopers also say the wreck happened as a northbound car driven by 63-year-old Deborah Brubaker of Dearing was passing several southbound vehicles. Brubaker’s car hit a vehicle in the southbound lane, a pickup driven by 76-year-old John Linden of Hamilton. Linden’s truck hit the rear axle of a semi driven by 53-year-old James Powers of Oologah, Oklahoma, which then hit a pickup driven by 59-year-old Evelyn Bull of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Linden, Powers and Bull all suffered suspected minor injuries and were taken to Neosho Medical in Chanute for treatment. Brubaker suffered potentially serious injuries and was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment.
