So far this week, and even going back to this past weekend, none of the marginal risk areas issued by the Storm Prediction Center have led to any actual severe weather for area counties. More marginal risk areas have been announced to close out the work week.
All area counties are in marginal risk areas Wednesday afternoon and evening, Thursday evening and Friday afternoon and evening. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are the main potential hazard all three days, with quarter-sized hail also possible Friday.
Wednesday’s risk area comes with no thunderstorms listed as possible by the Weather Service Emporia page until early Thursday morning.
High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-90s through Friday. A cold front continues the overall chances of showers and storms for the weekend, but it drops our high temperatures to the mid- and upper 80s.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
