One of SOS’ biggest annual campaigns is now off and running through the coming month.
The 2025 SOS Strong Campaign had its official kickoff celebration Wednesday afternoon inside the SOS Community Advocacy and Service Complex. 16 men from across the local listening area are taking part in this year’s fundraiser, with each tasked to raise both $1,000 and awareness for SOS and its mission to combat child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.
SOS Board President Tyler Curtis, a former SOS Strong participant, says while the money is important for the agency, the awareness aspect is just as crucial a piece of the month-long endeavor.
In addition to the community awareness raised by the fundraiser, Curtis says SOS Strong is also a very eye-opening experience for the individuals taking part.
2025 marks the 11th year for the campaign and throughout that time, Curtis believes the event has not only brought in significant funds for the agency, but it has also helped to break down certain stigmas surrounding men and the topic of abuse and sexual violence, {Specifically that men are not only victimizers, but victims as well.
The list of SOS Strong ambassadors is as follows:
Sinjin Andrews
Aaron Larson
Nic Baker
Mic McGuire
Jordan Barr
Curtis Nelson
Chris Bartel
Justin Rahe
Trenton Bottles
Nathan Rankin
Brandon Early
Joe Raygoza
Alec Ford
Owen Reed
Jack Honea
Mike Roney
This year’s contingent includes a handful of returning ambassadors from previous years. Curtis says that is a great trend to see.
