Water service will be off for most of the day Wednesday for residents in a portion of south Emporia.
The City of Emporia will be conducting a water main replacement in the 100 block of South Chestnut Street with work set to begin at 7 am. Water service will be shut off in the area for the duration of the project.
Work is expected to be complete by 5 pm if not sooner. Door hangers with additional information have been distributed to residents in the vicinity.
