It’s almost watermelon time.
No, not watermelon season — that’s been underway for weeks — but watermelon time because the Emporia Farmers Market’s annual Homegrown Celebration is coming Saturday morning. This year also features the 20th annual watermelon contests through ESB Financial, and Retail Banking Officer Meredith Wagner encourages families to get to the Farmers market parking lot early.
The Farmers Market is also operating from 8-10:30 am, with its traditional list of offerings like produce, breads and homemade items.
KVOE will broadcast from the Homegrown Celebration starting at 8 am Saturday.
