A status hearing will be held next month in a Coffey County criminal case involving charges of child and adult sexual abuse.
Leon Lile was supposed to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 20, but that was canceled after a competency hearing last month. A status conference is next on the docket Sept. 11.
Lile, now 77, was originally accused of three counts of rape, two of aggravated sexual battery and one of aggravated indecent liberties, reflecting alleged illegal sexual activity with two teenagers and two adults periodically between 2013-2020. He now faces five total counts, three involving rape of a child ranging from ages 13-19 at the time of the alleged incidents, one for indecent liberties involving the same child and one for aggravated sexual battery involving an adult.
