An Emporia woman is now facing separate court proceedings in Lyon County, including a charge of escape.
Melissa Sue Miller, age 42, was charged with escape after an alleged incident July 15. Miller is accused of escaping the Lyon County Detention Center while being held on a separate misdemeanor. Her next hearing is a pretrial conference Aug. 18. She was committed to the Detention Center on July 14 after a competency hearing on single counts of criminal damage and criminal trespass dating back to an alleged incident in early March.
Miller is also facing a misdemeanor count of interference with law enforcement after an alleged incident July 26. The next hearing in that case is also Aug. 18.
