A pretrial hearing has been added to the Lyon County docket as an aggravated arson case is in the early stages.
On Tuesday, Mitchell Lindsey waived his preliminary hearing. Judge Jeff Larson then set a hearing for Aug. 28.
Lindsey faces one official count of aggravated arson after allegedly setting a small kitchen fire at the College Apartments, 132 West 12th, last month. Prosecutors say at least one person was in the building at the time of the alleged incident.
The scheduling of Lindsey’s next hearing comes as an attempted aggravated arson case in Lyon County is currently on hold. On Monday, Judge Doug Jones approved a defense motion for a competency hearing in the case against Uriel Sevilla, accused of lighting an incendiary device inside 10 West Grill + Dive Bar last month. Sevilla is accused of attempted arson, criminal use of explosives and aggravated assault.
