Fundraising is into the later stages for SOS Strong.
Executive Director Mickey Edwards says the fundraising has been going well, in large part due to a competitive nature amongst the participants. This year’s effort also continues the recent trend of wide-ranging community gatherings.
Along with the work of SOS Strong ambassadors, the campaign is bolstered by a $5,000 matching gift from Kat and Tamir Zuckerman. Kat Zuckerman says SOS serves a vital role in the area as it helps victims of abuse and neglect — and it does a good job in that role.
SOS Strong has been part of the fundraising efforts for SOS since 2015. It’s designed to demonstrate men can be positive role models in the battle against sexual and domestic violence of all kinds. Ambassadors pledge to raise at least $1,000 to support SOS programs. As has been the case since the fundraiser began, ambassadors pledge to lead by example, not to blame victims or engage in any acts of violence, stand up for those in need, be positive upstanders and to always speak up for what is right.
More information is online at soskansas.com. SOS Strong officially ends Aug. 18.
