An Emporia teenager was airlifted from the scene of a rollover crash northwest of Emporia late Friday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened just north of the intersection of Roads 200 and F shortly after 11 pm. Troopers say 17-year-old Clarissa Pember was driving a car northbound on F and failed to stop at a stop sign. Her car went through a barbed wire fence and rolled into a field.
Pember was airlifted to Stormont Vail Health in Topeka for treatment. A passenger, 17-year-old Natalie Hunter of Topeka, was taken by ground ambulance to Newman Regional Health. Both were ejected from the car and suffered potentially serious injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts.
