This week will see more work on a pair of significant infrastructure projects in Emporia.
Concrete Street Repair will see work on part of West 15th. Lincoln to Lawrence will be open to thru traffic, but Chestnut and Dover will both be closed at 15th for work. This part of the project should take about two weeks to complete.
Another Concrete Street Repair zone involves West 18th between Rural and Center. There will be lane closures as part of this overall zone as work continues through the fall.
For the Southeast Transmission waterline replacement project, work continues on West Seventh, with this week’s work concentrating on Sunnyslope to West. There will also be work on Neosho Street from West Sixth to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks and on Garfield from 12th to Sixth. City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says these streets will see both full and partial closures as work continues.
