Following a significant naming rights agreement announced last week, Flint Hills Technical College had an update on the Advancing Tomorrow capital campaign as part of a special fundraising dinner.
As part of KVOE’s Tech Talk segment Tuesday, Vice President for Advancement Mike Crouch said the campaign is nearing $3 million collected or pledged. Crouch says he’s pleased with the early returns after recent conversations.
Crouch also sees Advancing Tomorrow as having a transformative impact on local and area business business and industry.
The banquet followed the $20,000 naming rights agreement involving Emporia State Federal Credit Union, which will have its name on a conference room in the new Advanced Industry Education Center at the college’s main campus. The fundraising campaign already has a $2 million lead gift from the Jones Trust.
The new building, tentatively set for construction between 2027-2028, will house advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, automation and robotics. It will also move many student and career services options to the new building and will serve as an official entrance to the college’s main campus.
