A hot weekend is coming, and the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most area counties.
The heat advisory affects Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties between 1 pm Friday and 8 pm Saturday. Air temperatures will be in the mid-90s with peak heat index readings as high as 101.
High temperatures will also be in the mid-90s Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will remain in the 90s despite slight chances of thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.
