A Lyon County rape case will go to sentencing next month after a plea agreement on lesser charges.
On Friday, Luis Adrian Jalpa-Sena pleaded no contest to two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Remaining counts were dismissed and both prosecution and defense are recommending consecutive sentences to Judge Laura Miser at the final hearing in this case Sept. 5. Jalpa-Sena will also have to register as a sex offender.
Jalpa-Sena was originally charged with two counts of rape, as well as two counts of two counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of furnishing alcohol to minors and one count of aggravated criminal sodomy after an alleged incident with a 16-year-old this past April.
