The Council Grove Police Department says a Nebraska man is in custody after an alleged incident causing a brief lockdown at Council Grove Elementary earlier this week.
The Police Department says officers saw a person with a known extraditable warrant out of Nebraska near Sixth and Main around 11:30 am Monday. Officers also received information that the person, later identified as Daniel McAuley, age and hometown not listed, was possibly armed.
Council Grove Elementary went into a temporary lockdown “out of an abundance of caution.”
McAuley was arrested without incident on suspicion of third-degree domestic assault.
