A cool and occasionally damp week has started with cool and wet conditions.
A fast-moving line of showers and storms dumped 0.30 inches of rainfall on the KVOE studios between 3:30 and 4:30 am Monday. The Emporia Municipal Airport got 0.19 inches. Other reports:

*Cottonwood Falls: 0.30 inches
*Kansas Highway 99 at Lyon-Greenwood county line: 0.30 inches
*Olpe Blacksmith Shop: 0.50 inches
After Monday, more showers and embedded thunderstorms are possible Wednesday through Thursday night and again Saturday night into Sunday. Severe storms are not expected.
High temperatures will be in the 70s all week, well below the normal temperatures in the upper 80s for late August, and overnight lows will be in the low to mid-50s Monday night and Tuesday night.
