Two teenagers are in custody after an attempted aggravated robbery incident earlier this month, according to Emporia Police.
Capt. Lisa Hayes says the teenagers, both 14-year-old males, were arrested Friday after an alleged incident Aug. 17. A man reported being approached by two males, one armed with a gun and another possibly with a knife, as he left a convenience store in the 1100 block of East 12th. Hayes says a gun and knife, both believed to have been used in the incident, were recovered as part of the investigation — which picked up speed after a tip to Lyon County Crime Stoppers a week ago.
Hayes says the names of the two juveniles will not be released. Officers are thanking residents and Crime Stoppers for their help in resolving this case.
