An Emporia woman accused of embezzling around $100,000 from a local business has started official court proceedings.
Randee Lee Jones had her first appearance in Lyon County District Court on Thursday. She was set for a preliminary hearing Nov. 13.
Jones is accused of taking money from Mel’s Tire and fraudulently using information belonging to business owner DJ Eidman between January 2022 and Halloween 2024. She is officially charged with one count of theft and another of identity theft.
