Flint Hills Technical College says it will have a “major gift announcement” later this month as fundraising continues for the Advancing Tomorrow capital campaign.
A special event is coming at 1 pm Sept. 15 at the college’s main campus. College administrators are not giving other details at this time.
Advancing Tomorrow is a $17 million campaign, the college’s largest-ever in its history. All funds will help to build and equip the Advanced Industry Education Center at the college’s main campus, with programs including advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, automation and robotics. Since it was unveiled early this year, the drive has generated around $3 million, including a $2 million lead gift from the Jones Trust and a $20,000 naming rights agreement with Emporia State Federal Credit Union.
