Emporia boys soccer is off to a great start this season, as they improve to 2-0 the as they beat St. Mary’s Academy 3-2 on Thursday night. Brayden Sailer scored twice, he now has four goals on the season, while Kevin Magana had a goal and an assist in the win. Braxton Pugh and Kevin Magana each had assists for Emporia as they next will play in a tournament in Salina on Sept 9th.
Emporia volleyball had success in Topeka on Thursday as the Lady Spartans beat Junction City 25-10 and 25-8, Topeka 25-13 and 25-15 and Topeka West 25-19 and 25-14. Emporia will be at home for the first time this season when they host a triangular on Sept. 9th.
Girls tennis had a strong showing at their home invite Thursday. Kalli Keough placed 2nd in singles for Emporia. The Lady Spartans #1 doubles teamĀ of Peyton Chanley and Kinsley Hines placed 5th 5th. Izabela Hinst placed 9th in singles and #2 doubles of Alexa Tovar and Chelsea placed 9th.
