The United Way of the Flint Hills is nearing the end of its first-ever Day of Giving fundraiser.
Drive Chair Yahaira Ibarra says the public focus may be on fundraising, but the deeper goal is to raise awareness as the annual fundraising effort begins.
A special drawing Wednesday will award a pair of tickets and a parking pass to the Kansas City Chiefs’ home opener against the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, this upcoming Sunday afternoon. Ibarra says the awareness effort is well-timed as workplace campaigns get started.
This year’s goal is $500,000, and Ibarra encourages people to see their donations as investments with the public campaign now underway through May 2026.
