Brief heavy rain fell across the KVOE listening area Tuesday morning after an extended period of light rain Monday.
The KVOE studios received 0.50 inches of rain after showers and storms Tuesday morning — on top of 0.30 inches of rain from showers Monday. The Emporia Municipal Airport is currently at 0.58 inches total for the two days, while Eureka’s Milliken Airport is at 0.31 inches total.
The rest of the week should be sunny and dry. High temperatures will be close to 80 degrees Tuesday and near 90 degrees by Friday.

As was the case Friday, the KVOE listening area had an extended period of showers Monday.
The KVOE studios got 0.30 inches from showers that extended from the mid-morning hours into the evening, while the Emporia Municipal Airport got 0.25 inches. Other totals:

*1100 block Constitution: 0.30 inches

*3.5 miles west of Emporia Golf Course: 0.60 inches
*3 miles east of Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.20 inches
*Allen: 0.20 inches
*Cottonwood Falls: 0.60 inches
*Eureka Milliken Airport: 0.30 inches
Monday’s rainfall follows lighter totals collected Friday, when area residents reported anywhere from 0.10-0.25 inches of rain.
Rain chances dry out through Tuesday morning as high temperatures climb to 80. The rest of the week should be dry and increasingly warm as temperatures approach 90 degrees by Saturday before a slight chance of rainfall Saturday night and Sunday.
