A road improvement project may be ending soon northeast of Emporia.
Burlingame Road has seen improvements between Roads 210 and 220, or three to four miles northeast of Emporia, for the last two weeks. The Lyon County Highway Department indicates the work could end Wednesday, although that schedule may adjust due to rainfall Monday and Tuesday.
In the meantime, traffic is still down to one lane with stoplights at both ends of the work zone. Drivers using that stretch of Burlingame Road will still have to deal with delays.
Separately, the Lyon County Highway Department has closed Road G between 320 and 330 to replace an unlisted number of cross-road culverts. That mile-long stretch of G will be closed until the overall project is done. There is no word on how long the work could take.
