A new child play concept is taking flight in west Emporia.
New Day Play Cafe at 2715 Candlewood Suite C is listed as “Emporia’s first indoor playground, party venue and cafe for families with children up to 10 years old.” Owner Amanda Janzen says the business also serves as a coffee shop for the grown-ups.
Janzen says there is ample space for youngsters to enjoy.
Adults, meanwhile, can enjoy a full espresso bar with organic espresso, as well as lemonades and Italian sodas.
A one-time nurse at Newman Regional Health and an Emporia State nursing graduate, Janzen sees her business a place for parents as much as it is for their children.
The New Day Play Cafe opened Aug. 13. Hours are 9 am to 9 pm Wednesdays through Fridays, 9 am to 2 pm Saturdays if no party is booked and 11 am to 2 pm Sundays if no party is booked. Weekend hours go to 5 pm if parties are scheduled.
Local businesses are encouraged to sponsor “A Day of Play” and be showcased in the “We Are the Village” sponsorship wall. Residents with questions or who are willing to partner with New Day Play Cafe can go online to newdayplaycafe.com, email hello@newdayplaycafe.com or find more information on social media.
