Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has sued the social media company Snapchat.
Kobach’s lawsuit says Snap, the creator of the Snapchat social media platform, has “engaged in deceptive and unconscionable acts that have caused substantial harm to Kansas consumers, particularly teenagers.” He also says Snap has falsely represented its platform as safe for children and teenagers with its 12+ and T for Teen age ratings on app stores at the same time users have access to mature content. The lawsuit also alleges several violations of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.
The Snapchat lawsuit follows a similar lawsuit filed this past spring against TikTok.
