Las Catrinas has reopened after a brief closure.
The restaurant at 1116 West Sixth was temporarily closed as a procedural move after a small flash fire Sunday night. Emporia Fire says staffers were closing down for the night. The fire developed after a gas line broke from a cooktop and apparently found a nearby pilot light.
No injuries were reported.
The restaurant’s hood system handled most of the fire. Las Catrinas had to be closed as the hood system was reset.
