Emporia football is back at home at Welch Stadium for the first time since week one, as the 2-2 Emporia Spartans take on the 3-1 Manhattan Indians on KVOE. The Spartans look for a strong performance at home after a 13-12 loss at Topeka last week. Emporia Head Coach Daniel Goodman says the focus has been on being the best version of themselves and avoiding self-inflicted wounds that hurt the Spartans last week.
Goodman says that playing in front of what is expected to be a large crowd at Welch Stadium is a big advantage.
Emporia’s defense has been a big reason for their turnaround, allowing just over six points a game in their last three games. Senior linebacker Wesley Dresher has had a strong season for the Spartans and knows playing a Manhattan team that ranked #1 in 6A last week is a huge opportunity for his team.
Pregame Coverage begins at 6:30 with kickoff at 7 on KVOE and KVOE.com/Listen
