The annual KVOE National Teachers Hall of Fame Radio Auction is just over a month away, and representatives of the hall are fast at work making sure they have another wide and varied selection of packages ready to go up on the auction block.
That’s according to Hall of Fame Director Maddie Fennel, a recent guest of KVOE’s Morning Show, who says they have been reaching out to sponsors and donors for gifts and donations over the past several weeks. At this time, organizers are “right about where we were last year” in terms of collections, and they are expecting that pace will pick up closer to the actual auction date next month.
In addition to local businesses and sponsors, Fennel says, once again, previous inductees are stepping up to help support the cause by putting together packages and gifts along with their classmates. Fennel says this has been a longstanding tradition among past inductees and one that she believes allows them to both give back to the hall while staying connected to Emporia.
While she couldn’t divulge all of the items that will be up for bid next month, Fennel did announce they will be adding a first-time set of packages to the lineup, which coincided with the announcement of a new event the hall of fame is set to host next summer in Orlando, Florida, an education summit.
With that in mind, Fennel stated this year’s auction will include two packages for the summit that will make a great gift to any educator.
Fennel says registration for the summit will go live on their website next week. The KVOE NTHF Radio Auction will take place on November 20 and can be heard on KVOE 1400 am and 96.9 fm and viewed live at KVOE.com/TV.
Individuals will be able to bid on packages by either calling the KVOE studios at 620-342-1400 or by texting the Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply text line at 620-342-5863.
