Emporia Fire had a busy day with three reported gas leaks Wednesday.
Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says one of the three reports was confirmed as a leak — actually a line puncture. Conley says the incident at 15th and Prairie developed just after 6 pm when an IdeaTek contractor hit a gas line.
Kansas Gas arrived on scene to monitor and make needed repairs. No injuries were reported.
Emporia Fire also went to 12th and State, as well as the 1600 block of Rural, after reported odors inside homes. No issues were found on Rural, while sewer gas was noted at the 12th and State incident site.
