The Emporia State soccer team played to a scoreless tie with Pittsburg State at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch on Friday. It was a physical game with Pitt State generating more chances outshooting ESU 14-7 and 6-1 in shots on goal. The teams combined for 26 fouls with the Lady Hornets committing 16 including multiple yellow and red cards. ESU played down a player for the last 17 minutes of the match and were down two players for the final 9 minutes but held on to preserve the draw which ended ESU’s four-match winning streak. Mackenzi Goen made six saves in goal for ESU. E-State (6-3-1, 3-0-1 MIAA) plays next on Sunday at Missouri Southern.
