After losing their 13-match winning streak against #9 Washburn Tuesday, the Lady Hornets popped a streak of their own Friday handing #2 Nebraska-Kearney their first loss of the season in commanding fashion, sweeping the Lopers 25-22, 25-11, 25-18. It is the first win for E-State over UNK since 1988 and snapped a 35-match losing streak to the Lopers. After surviving a back-and-forth first set, the Lady Hornets dominated the second hitting .500 with just one error on 28 swings and committed just two errors in the third to hit .361 in the match with just seven total errors. It was the highest hitting percentage against UNK since 2007. Nyia Anderson had a double-double with 12 kills and 16 assists while Lavra Krizanic also chipped in 12 kills. Senior outside hitter Camilla Ossola said it was an emotional win.
Setter Brailee Bogle said, with a match on Saturday, the team will need to move on quickly.
Head coach Ken Murczek gave his team all the credit for their efficient offense.
