Street resurfacing will continue Monday for two of Emporia’s busier residential streets.
Milling work began last week on West 12th between Rural and Lincoln, as well as Prairie Street between the bridge over Interstate 35 and West 12th. Milling work is done on 12th, as is installing a 2-inch asphalt overlay for the outside lanes. The center lane will be paved this week, weather permitting.
For Prairie Street, the work zone is completely milled. A 2-inch overlay will be installed over the next two weeks.
The mill-and-overlay project follows waterline work for both streets over the last few years.
