Sunday’s second annual car show benefiting the Flint Hills Technical College Wrangler Food Pantry was a success, according to Beacon for Hope Suicide Prevention Director Melissa Owen.
Beacon for Hope has been using car shows to draw attention to mental health for college students for several years, both for the Wrangler Food Pantry and Corky’s Cupboard at Emporia State University.
Owen says there were $300 collected and around 300 non-perishable food items donated during the event.
Beacon for Hope is now getting ready for its Mad! Sad! Glad! children’s mental health event at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building on Oct. 25.
