Emporia State junior linebacker Landon Boss has picked up two more national awards following his standout performance against Missouri Southern last Saturday. Already the NCAA and MIAA Defensive Player of the Week, Boss has also picked up the National Defensive Player of the Week award from D2Football.com and has been named the Walter Camp Division II Defensive Player of the Week. Boss dominated against the Lions to the tune of 11 tackles with nine of them solo to go along with four sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble. The four sacks by Boss tied ESU’s NCAA-era record set by Patrick Cook and tied by Gerard Clemons in the 1990’s. Boss is the MIAA leader in sacks, tackles for loss, and solo tackles. ESU returns to action Saturday when they face Central Oklahoma on the road. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with the RV Doc Pregame Show at 6:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
